M&S wind up their ethical fund.
From the 28th September 2011 you will no longer be able to invest in the M&S Ethical Fund. Current investors should have had a letter to this effect already.
Whilst it is sad to see an ethical fund close, especially carrying the M&S brand, it is a fact that you cannot stick the word “Ethical” into the title of a fund and expect it to fly.
Ethical Investors are by nature often more knowledgeable than the average investor and need to know what lies behind the fund, what are the levels of engagement and why investment decisions are being made.
Having said all of that we are sad to lose this fund.
