Phil joined Investing Ethically Ltd in 2001 as a trainee adviser seeking a career change into financial services.
Since joining the firm, Phil has gained the diploma in financial services and is currently working towards the Advanced Diploma qualification.
After taking on a directorship in the firm, Phil has become the Complaince Officer which makes him responsiable for ensuring that Investing Ethically Ltd meets the high standards of advice and service required by the regulator and most importantly our clients!
Phil would probably describe himself as an ‘outdoors person’ with a life long passion for the natural world. This deep interest in nature led Phil to complete an undergraduate degree in Physical Geography at Leicester University. His pursuit of knowledge continued with the completion of a Master of Science degree in Environmental science at The University of East Anglia in 1999.
Phil says his career path has now come almost full circle as he has managed to find the perfect job which combines his interest in all things financial with a deep commitment to helping clients invest according to their own ethical beliefs and concerns. The ‘ethical’ dimension to our financial advice is one of the primary reasons why I joined investing ethically at the beginning.
When asked what is the best and worst elements of your job, Phil says, the highlights are the many positive comments and letters from my clients and knowing that I have helped them to navigate the often opaque world of financial services. The most difficult aspect of my role is the enormous sense of personal responsibility I feel for each and every piece of advice I give to my clients.
Phil is married and has two children Charlie and Thomas.

at university….and liked it so much that she decided to stay in the UK.

Andy joined the firm in June 2006. He has been a financial adviser since 1998 working for Aviva, Barclays, and Gerrards in Norwich and London.
Before leaving the last of these companies, he had become increasingly disillusioned with main stream financial services. It seemed to him that the whole emphasis of the organisations he worked for was the pursuit of money, with little consideration to anything else.
At Investing Ethically he says he found something totally different.
For Andy it is not just about the fact that all the pensions and investments that Investing Ethically recommends are ethical but also the way we as a company treat each other, our clients and the involvement we have in the direction and growth of the company.
Andy joined the firm because he wanted to be part of the solution rather than the cause of the many problems facing the planet today and that sense has only continued to grow since coming on board.
As well as the standard FPC1, 2 and 3 qualifications Andy has taken 3 of the higher level examination and so has now completed the Diploma in Financial Services and is continuing to work towards the Advanced Diploma. The advanced exams were in:
G10 Tax and Trusts
G60 Pension
G30 Corporate Finance
When Andy isn’t dealing with the financial world he is likely to be out in the great outdoors either hiking, cycling, canoeing or camping and sometime all of these at the same time !?
